This is in my Economics textbook

This is fucked up

if you couldn’t SEE how fucked up this is, let me put this into even more perspective for you.a male with no high school education still makes more than a female with 9th-12th grade education (no diploma).a male who is a high school graduate still makes more than a female with an associate’s degree.a male with a bachelor’s degree only makes about ~$2000 less than a female with a fucking doctorate’s degree.tell me again why feminism isn’t important.

I am personally offended to the highest degree

hooooooly crap.

Things like this bother me slightly - because they’re misleading and completely devoid of context.
Someone without a highschool diploma can really only get menial jobs - janitorial, construction, waste management, etc.  These jobs *actually* pay pretty well, but do require certain skills/physical attributes.  And without going into a “Men do X better than Women, and Women do Y better than Men” bit, I’ll bet my bottom dollar that there are more garbage collectors (20 USD / hour) who are male, than there are who are women.
*That* is where the wage disparity comes from, because unfortunately the jobs a woman can get (again - this is not an economical issue but a job title issue) are going to differ from the jobs a man can get.  Is it unfair a man gets a garbage/janitorial gig over a woman?  Sure, if they qualify the same.  But is it unfair if a man gets a garbage/janitorial gig that pays 15 bucks an hour, and a female gets a clerical job which pays 14?  No.  Because if they swapped places, they’d be paid the same (or if we want to get into the whole ‘males make 25 cents on the dollar’ thing, they’d be paid much closer).
So before people get all up in arms about something like this, please consider that this *ISN’T* a study on wage disparity in the same positions, this a study on wage disparity across education.  Check yo facts guuurl.  *snaps fingers and saunters off*

Text 26 Jun Oh my god?

People upset at the government doing things that it shouldn’t do?

Where have you people been all these years?  Gawd.  Why does it take some social justice issue to galvanize you into doing anything (mostly complaining/whining/crying)?  It’s not like this should come as a surprise, the government fucks with you. Get used to it, or do something about it.

Don’t do it because of one thing.  Don’t do it because it’s the ‘one thing you care about’.  Do it because you may have finally realized that for every ‘one thing’ you give a damn about, someone else gives an equal damn about something radically different that is also being controlled, screwed by, or otherwise impacted by the government.

But for the love of god.  Do -something- or hush it.  Some of us are trying to read :(
